Vijay Eswaran has a sound educational background. In addition, he has vast entrepreneurial expertise. He was born in Malaysia. However, he pursued his higher studies abroad. In the United Kingdom, Vijay enrolled in the prestigious London School of Economics.
In 1984, he graduated with an undergraduate degree in socio-economics. In addition, the young graduate pursued a professional management accounting course, thus obtaining a CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountant) certification.
Later, he flew to the United States where he enrolled in the Southern Illinois University for his master’s degree. Vijay Eswaran contends that while he was working, a friend introduced him to the merits of multi-level marketing (MLM). He posits that he fell in love with the direct selling model and decided to pursue it. When he returned home in the 90’s, Cosway’s recruited him owing to his impressive resume that indicated that he had worked for other companies such as IBM. At the MLM Company, Vijay played a pivotal role of enhancing their operations.
As he was looking for what to do with his life, Vijay says that the economic crisis being experience in Asia made life even harder for him. He posits that he did not have connections or adequate capital to start and run his own business.
Luckily, he met like-minded friends. It is here that Joseph Bismark decided to partner with Eswaran to incorporate the conglomerate, QI Group. QI Group has been investing in training and education, development and management of property, logistics, telecommunications, leisure and lifestyle, and luxury. They have also opened regional offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Owing to the high demand for their products, the company has managed to expand its operations to over 30 countries courtesy of its many successful subsidiaries.
The motivational speaker has attended different institutions and leadership conferences to inspire, motivate and encourage people. In addition, he has written many books, including “18 Stepping Stones,” “In the Thinking Zone,” “On the Wings of Thought,” and “In the Sphere of Silence.”
Presently, Eswaran is an active member of Corporate Malaysia Roundtable, the Business Council for Sustainability and Responsibility, and the Global Business Council.
